Hi, I’m Steve Currall. I am thrilled and honored to have been selected
as president-elect of the University of South Florida USF’s trajectory is unlike any other public
university in the country, and there is so much potential. Visiting each of the campuses this week and
meeting with so many of you, there’s a feeling around the region that — even given all we’ve
accomplished — we’re still only just getting started. I want to thank the search committee and Board
of Trustees for their confidence in me and for conducting such a diligent and transparent
search process. Next week I will visit the Florida Board of
Governors, where I will hopefully earn their confirmation so we can hit the ground running
in July. Thank you also to our current president, Dr.
Judy Genshaft, for all she’s done to bring this university up to the level it is today. Her passion for this university has left an
incredible legacy. Finally, I want to thank the USF and Tampa
Bay communities for the warm welcome this week. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to
lead this remarkable institution and I look forward to working closely with each of you so that we can continue to move forward, together. GO BULLS!
